The 2024 vintage of Dhillon Macedon Ranges Chardonnay is a delicious and elegant wine from one of Australia's premier wine regions.

The wine has a pale straw yellow color and aromas of lemon, lime, apple, pear, white peach, honeysuckle, and minerality while the palate offers flavors of lemon, lime, apple, pear, and white peach leading to a long, lingering finish.

While this Chardonnay is delightful to drink now, it also has the potential to age beautifully, showing the characteristics to develop further complexity and depth over time, rewarding you with a memorable drinking experience in the future.

    • Description

The 2024 vintage boasts a delightful aroma of lemon, citrus flowers, spice, fig, and a hint of nectarine. Its palate is full, fresh, harmonious, creamy, and lingering, with a lovely weight and smoothness. It will improve for at least three years and remain enjoyable beyond that.

This is the third release from our association with the Glenhope Macedon Ranges vineyard that was established in the late 1990s. Each year it feels like we have been able to refine the picking decision and winemaking, which is very similar to the way we make the Bindi Chardonnays (wild yeast, barrel fermentation, time on yeast lees). The nose has the classic array of aromas; lemon, cashew, spice and orange blossom. The palate is fresh and filling, textured in fruit weight and then chalky, intense and long. It will develop positively for four years and drink well beyond.

Located in Gisborne in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Bindi winegrowers, owned and operated by the Dhillon family produce small lots of premium quality wine with a focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Of the entire 170-acre property, only six acres are under vine, while the rest is dedicated to eucalypt cultivation and protected bushland. The range of wines is the product of two acres of Chardonnay and four of Pinot Noir with a Shiraz from Heathcote rounding out the portfolio. Winemaker and viticulturist Michael Dhillon executes meticulous vineyard management, including low-impact farming with increasing trials in organic management. Hand pruning and shoot/cane positioning with frequent passes through the vineyard ensures the highest quality fruit at harvest. Together with winemaking consultant Stuart Anderson, Dhillon's winemaking process includes wild yeast ferments, delicate pressings, lees ageing and minimal fining and filtration.
