Domaine François Lamarche's Clos Vougeot is located in the upper section of this vast, walled Grand Cru vineyard, close to the Château, where the soils are thin and stony, creating wines of greater precision and elegance. The site produces wines with a fine balance between richness and structure, a hallmark of the Lamarche style.
The 2012 vintage was marked by a cooler growing season, producing wines with natural freshness and subtlety. This Clos Vougeot shows a finely textured palate with layers of red fruit, earth, and a touch of spice. The tannins are firm yet elegant, providing a solid backbone that will allow the wine to develop gracefully over the coming years.
