Description
Burgundy Domaines such as this are a rare find – even more exceptional because the vineyard holdings here are almost entirely made up of Grand Cru and Premier Cru parcels in Vosne/Echézeaux.
The Lamarche family has holdings in the Echézeaux Grand Cru across several lieux-dits, with the majority located in Les Champs Traversins – one of the most highly regarded sectors, situated just above Grands Echézeaux. This part of the vineyard benefits from shallow, well-drained soils and good exposure, producing wines with aromatic lift and finer structure than some of the heavier parcels below.
2019 is a vintage of ripeness and concentration, but with a core of freshness that gives the wines energy and poise. Nicole Lamarche’s Echézeaux reflects this balance beautifully – expressive red fruit, floral notes, and a fine tannic frame. A graceful and composed expression of this often overlooked grand cru, showing the precision and elegance that now characterise the domaine under Nicole’s direction.
