    • Description

This Pinot has quickly become one of Tasmania’s most sought after wines with a string of accolades being awarded to past vintages including the Jimmy Watson Trophy for the 2014. The fruit for Kelly’s Reserve is sourced from the middle 12 rows of the vineyard which have had their trellising system modified. The aim is to reduce the yields as much as possible and in turn produce fruit with greater concentration. Each year the Kelly’s Reserve is made from a blend of only the top barrels from the vintage.

Awarded the James Halliday trophy for best Pinot Noir at the Melbourne Royal Wine Show.

Matured for 10 months in French oak (38% new). Deep red to dark red colour with black shaded edges and a bright red hue. Wonderfully perfumed, the nose offers up alluring scents of violets, rose petals, dark cherries, strawberries and anise trailed by whiffs of dried herbs, forest floor and delicate spicy cedar. Rich, expansive and supple, the palate is layered with delicious ripe red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits which seamlessly meld into a subtle anise, spicy cedar, dried herb and forest floor back drop. Possessing a tremendous power wave of flavour that unfolds across the palate like a peacock’s tail, it shows outstanding intensity and features silky smooth tannins. Finishes extraordinarily  long and exceptionally polished.

    Home Hill

Home Hill is home to Rosemary and Terry Bennett, growing from a hobby farm with six rows of vines to an award-winning vineyard producing some of the finest Pinot Noir in Australia.

Situated in the small village of Ranelagh, south of Hobart in the beautiful Huon Valley region, the winery is set amongst an picturesque vineyard with stunning mountain view.

Youngest son, Sean, assists Terry with the careful planning and assiduous cropping levels of the six hectare vineyard and daughter, Kelly, once a nurse, left her profession and teamed up with the family to assist with the marketing of the wine and managing the Restaurant. The family now love to share their beautiful property with visitors and consider it to be the perfect place to celebrate the good things in life – a place to relax and enjoy.
