Château de Laubade's 1990 vintage Bas-Armagnac was distilled on the estate in Sorbets, Gers, using the traditional Armagnacais column still. The 1990 vintage draws on the estate's four traditional grape varieties — Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Baco, and Folle Blanche — distilled and aged separately in 400-litre Gascony oak barrels under the Lesgourgues family's careful stewardship. Rested for over three decades in the cellars before bottling, the 1990 develops the complex mature Bas-Armagnac character of crystallised fruit, dark prune, rancio, vanilla, and Gascony oak spice. Bottled at 40% ABV after gradual reduction.

Château de Laubade is a family-owned Bas-Armagnac estate located in Sorbets in the Gers department of Gascony, south-west France — in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac appellation, the most highly regarded of the three Armagnac sub-regions. The estate was established in 1870 and acquired in 1974 by Maurice Lesgourgues. It is now run by the third generation of the Lesgourgues family — Denis, Jeanne, and Arnaud — who have built Laubade into one of the region's most celebrated producers. At 260 acres, it is the largest single-block vineyard estate in Bas-Armagnac, giving it exceptional control over grape varieties, harvesting, and wine quality at the source.
