His journey into the world of wine began during his university years, working at one of the largest bottleshops in New Jersey, where he discovered his passion for the industry. Beginning at United Cellars in 2022, Ian has brought over a decade of experience in online wine retail, having held key positions with prominent online retailers and boutique bottleshops in Sydney. His expertise is not only in aged wines, which he particularly enjoys, but also in sourcing the best value-for-money options for his clients.
Ian's extensive travels to renowned wine regions across Europe, South America, North America, and throughout Australia have enriched his palate and deepened his knowledge. He has collaborated with premium wineries around the world, always on the lookout for exciting new wines to try. Originally from England, he has long been surrounded by great wines, and after spending over half a decade working across Australia and New Zealand, he developed a deep appreciation for the global wine industry and the people behind it. Ryad began his career in wine sales with United Cellars and has since worked across various areas of the business. This hands-on experience has given him valuable insight into market trends, customer preferences, and the importance of finding the right wine for the right person. Today, he focuses on curating a global portfolio of iconic wines from landmark vintages, sourced from trusted producers across Europe, the Americas, and beyond. His goal is to connect customers with exceptional wines that embody heritage, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
