Amber Lane Distillery double-distils 100% Australian malted barley in 'The Mary Rose', a 3,600-litre copper pot still modelled on Springbank's design in Campbeltown, Scotland, maximising copper contact for flavour complexity. Maturation uses large-format casks (200–250 litres), primarily ex-bourbon barrels sourced from Heaven Hill and ex-Pedro Ximenes and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The 'Air' expression from the Alchemical Series was aged in a second-fill ex-Botrytis cask (cask 295), lending delicate floral notes and light fruit elevation suited to the element's concept. All Amber Lane releases are bottled non-chill-filtered at natural colour; the Air expression is bottled at 53.5% ABV.

Amber Lane Distillery is located in the Yarramalong Valley on the Central Coast of New South Wales, approximately 90 minutes north of Sydney. Founded in 2017 by amateur astronomers Rod Berry and Phil Townsend after a chance encounter with a small whisky distillery during a rural stargazing trip, Amber Lane has rapidly established itself as one of Australia's most decorated craft producers. The distillery earned Champion Single Malt Whisky at the 2024 Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show, and every release to date has received at least one international competition medal. The Alchemical Series explores single malt whisky through the lens of the classical elements — earth, fire, water, air, and quintessence — each expression drawing on different cask types to evoke its elemental character.
