Nose: Dark brown sugar, orange peels intense and vanilla sweet. Marmalade, manuka honey, chocolate.

Palate: Fruitcake, spices, buttery vanilla initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying. Peppery with a touch of smoke.

Distillation

Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21 Year Old is a Caribbean rum cask-finished Speyside single malt, part of the Grand Series. The whisky is matured for a minimum of 21 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels at Glenfiddich's Dufftown distillery before being finished in specially selected Caribbean rum casks from the West Indies. The rum cask finishing adds a layer of tropical sweetness — coconut, vanilla, and light brown sugar — over the 21-year-old whisky's richer, developed fruit and honey character, creating a distinctive interplay between aged Speyside single malt and Caribbean rum cask influence. Bottled at 40% ABV.

Provenance

Glenfiddich Distillery was founded on Christmas Day 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland — a location chosen for its access to the Robbie Dhu spring water. The house has remained in the ownership of the William Grant & Sons family for five generations, making it one of the very few major Scotch whisky distilleries still in the hands of the family that founded it. Glenfiddich is the world's most-sold single malt Scotch whisky and has been central to the development of cask finishing in the industry — its Malt Master David Stewart pioneered the double-maturation technique in the 1980s, which is now used across dozens of expressions.
