Château Tanunda Brandy is double distilled from estate-grown white grapes in the Barossa Valley, following the traditional pot still brandy method that has been practised at the estate since 1890. Following distillation, the spirit is matured for a minimum of five years in French oak barrels within the estate's century-old stone cellars — the same cellars that have housed Barossa brandy for over 130 years. The five-year maturation qualifies it for VSOP designation. Bottled at 37.1% ABV, a slightly lower strength than standard that allows the Barossa fruit character and oak influence to present in a gentler, more accessible style.

Château Tanunda is one of Australia's most historically significant wineries, founded in 1890 in the Barossa Valley, South Australia — at the heart of the country's oldest and most prestigious wine region. The imposing château building was constructed from locally quarried Bethany bluestone and is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register. At its peak in the late nineteenth century, the property exported 80,000 gallons of brandy annually on company-owned ships. The estate was acquired by the Geber family in 2004, who have revitalised both the winery and the brandy programme. Château Tanunda Brandy holds the distinction of being Australia's oldest continuously produced brandy.
