Cadenhead's is one of Scotland's oldest independent bottlers of Whisky. Started in 1842, and taken over by J & A Mitchell (the owners of the Springbank Distillery), Cadenhead's has been a name associated with quality single malts, rums and even gin for almost 200 years.

From the Original Collection, known for quality single cask expressions from distilleries across Scotland, to the newer and more exciting Enigma series, which represents some of the most interesting whisky released in recent years, a Cadenhead's Label means quality.

This Enigma release uses whisky from a Secret Highland Distillery (rumoured and confirmed to be Glenmorangie), aged 40 Years in ex-Bourbon hogsheads.

There are very few times throughout history where this secret distillery has sold barrels to third parties, and 1985 was one of those years.

Such an extreme age statement would typically be reserved for collectable decanters set you back several thousand dollars, but this is a whisky for drinking as much as it makes for a collecting.

This is a proper old-school whisky, with notes of brandy snaps, grilled pineapple, vanilla ice cream and Serrano ham.

Delightfully smooth, aged flavours melt into the palate for a long, and expressive dram.
