    • Description

Credaro Wines is a boutique family-owned winery in Margaret River, focused on producing small-batch, premium wines that reflect the region’s elegance and varietal precision. The Five Tales series showcases the estate’s best vineyard blocks, combining depth, finesse, and approachability.

Fruit for the 2023 Cabernet Merlot was sourced from prime Margaret River vineyards, benefiting from gravelly soils and the cooling maritime influence. The vintage featured mild, balanced conditions, producing grapes with concentrated flavour, fine tannins, and vibrant aromatics.

Grapes were hand-picked, fermented in small batches to preserve fruit purity, and matured in French oak to add structure and complexity. Minimal intervention ensured that the natural expression of the blend remained front and centre.

Rich ruby-red in colour. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and cassis are layered with hints of cedar, vanilla, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, showing dark fruits, supple tannins, and a long, refined finish.

Ideal with roast lamb, beef, venison, or aged cheeses. Also pairs well with hearty pasta dishes or grilled vegetables.

    Credaro Wines

The Credaro family first settled in Margaret River in 1922 as a pioneering family to the region, after migrating from Northern Italy. The Credaro Estate wines, identify the best parcels of fruit selected from their 7 vineyards owned and managed by the family across the Margaret River Region.

It was a five acre vineyard that was established around 1915, near Commonage Road. Cesar, with the help of the family took some cuttings from the Yallingup vineyard where he worked and planted an acre of the Italian Red Variety (Fragola) at Carbunup. The family would make a parcel of wine every year, for themselves and the neighbouring families. The Fragola has now evolved from site to site with each generation of the family over the years. This wine today is known as the Credaro Family Estate Fragola.

Today the family manages 120 hectares of vines in the sub-regions of Carbunup, Treeton, Yallingup and Wallcliffe. The Credaro family own three separate vineyards, with current plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Merlot and two small plots of Fragola and Gewurztraminer.
