On the nose, intense blueberry, white pepper and spice. The palate sits well and truly in the savoury spectrum with smoky spice, tobacco and earthiness complementing the deep dark fruit profile. Extremely complex with cinnamon, star anise and white pepper notes. The wine is dense, intense and powerful, yet the palate retains a silky elegance. The tannins are fine and the wine can be cellared with confidence.

Larry Cherubino has had a distinguished winemaking career - first at Hardys Tintara, then Houghtons and thereafter as a consultant Winemaker in Australia, NZ, South Africa, the US and Italy.

The first wine was released in 2005 and the range now includes 3 tiers. At the top is Cherubino (Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon) and the next tier is The Yard, which includes five single-vineyard wines from Western Australia and at the lower end is the Ad Hoc label, which are single region wines. Rated highly among wine critics and punters alike, currently holding a 5 red star winery rating from James Halliday, it's impossible not to see the value in his wines which are of the highest quality, and marked at very reasonable prices.
