Join us on Tuesday 27th October at 6.00pm for a rare retrospective dedicated to Bass Phillip, one of the most important and distinctive names in Australian Pinot Noir.
This exceptional tasting explores the evolution of Bass Phillip through ten Pinot Noirs spanning 16 years, including six vintages of the celebrated Premium Pinot Noir and four releases of the flagship Reserve Pinot Noir.
The Premium flight reaches back to 2008 and 2010, before moving through 2018, 2021, 2023 and the newly released 2024. Tasted together, these wines offer a fascinating opportunity to see how Bass Phillip develops with bottle age while comparing the character of very different growing seasons.
We then step up to the Reserve Pinot Noir, with 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2024 tasted side by side. Produced in tiny quantities and only in vintages deemed worthy, Reserve represents the pinnacle of Bass Phillip Pinot Noir, a wine renowned for its depth, complexity, perfume and extraordinary capacity to age.
More than simply a vertical tasting, this is an opportunity to explore the evolution of an Australian icon: how vintage, vine age, winemaking and time in bottle shape wines from one of Gippsland’s most celebrated vineyards.
We’ll begin the evening with Champagne Delamotte Brut NV before moving into the complete Bass Phillip retrospective.
