90% Grenache, 3% Shiraz and 7% Graciano

Noon Winery, a small family-run estate in McLaren Vale, is celebrated for its limited-production reds crafted from dry-grown, old-vine vineyards. Since the Noon family took the helm in the 1970s, the winery has followed a philosophy of minimal intervention and authentic expression of site. The Eclipse blend showcases the estate’s old Grenache and Shiraz vines, some of which date back to the 1940s, grown on sandy soils that yield intensely flavoured, low-yielding fruit. Vineyard work is meticulous - hand pruning, sustainable farming, and careful fruit selection are all central to the Noon approach.

The 2015 vintage benefited from a warm, even growing season, allowing the old vines to deliver fruit with impressive concentration and aromatic lift. Fermentation was carried out with wild yeasts in small, open-top fermenters, with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity and structure. The wine was then matured in seasoned oak to enhance texture and complexity without masking the character of the fruit. The finished wine opens with lifted aromas of raspberry, black cherry and sweet spice, complemented by hints of dried herbs and subtle earthiness. The palate is generous and plush, supported by supple tannins and a long, velvety finish. Noon Eclipse 2015 is a striking example of McLaren Vale’s old-vine resource - rich, expressive and unmistakably true to its origins, reflecting both the skill and sensitivity that have made Noon a benchmark producer in the region.
