The Scholar Vineyard in Wilyabrup produces great fruit and this has been expertly harnessed into a classy wine. Balanced, combining power and elegance. It also has good cellaring potential.
Midnight black at its core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of blackcurrant infused with black olives show good elevation over cedar, tobacco leaf and spicy herb notes. Medium to full bodied, rich blackcurrant fruits are matched against tobacco leaf, black olive, dusty cedar, dried herb and spice characters. Dryish finish with firmly built tannins lending grip to the medium length aftertaste.
