    • Description

Moonlight Race Pinot Noir is created by combining two unique parcels of Pinot Noir, one from the Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn and the second coming off the Burn Cottage Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn. We believe it captures the essence of Central Otago Pinot Noir, with concentrated dark and red berry fruit flavours with a supple texture and fine tannins. Whilst it’s approachable now, there is cellaring potential of 7-8 years.

Bright notes of cherry, florals and pepper spice are accompanied by rosehip and savoury earth
characters. There is a lovely concentrated core supported by supple texture, and fine tannins
      extending through the palate

    Burn Cottage Vineyard

At Burn Cottage they believe in minimal intervention winemaking. Their aim is to discover the genius of the site and of the individual vineyard blocks within and to allow the wines to reveal said terroir. Burn Cottage minimize sulfur usage and avoid all additives whenever possible, including cultured yeasts, bacteria, associated nutrient products and filters. They also avoid racking whenever possible and perform their viticulture and harvesting according to lunar and celestial rhythms. Their slogan... "We are Burn Cottage and we make Pinot Noir" - and what Pinot Noir it is. Only very small quantities of their Pinots are produced and as of 2014, their range includes the Cashburn Pinot Noir, the Moonlight Race Pinot Noir and the flagship Burn Cottage Pinot Noir.
