Like most New Zealand winemakers, Dean continues to spend most of our winters immersing himself in the winemaking regions of Champagne, Burgundy, Alsace and South Africa.

    Nevis Bluff

Nevis Bluff winery has earned its reputation as a 'Pinot specialist' thanks in no small part to the work of Dean Shaw, a vintner of The Central Otago Wine Company.

Using grapes sourced from L'Attitude Vineyard (in a region of the Cromwell basin known as Pisa), Shaw employs a minimal intervention approach to produce a wine that represents its home as truly as possible.

Although many of the vineyards are covered in snow throughout the winter, the long, hot days and cool nights during summer result in a slow ripening process that's ideal for developing intense fruit flavours.

As a result, Nevis Bluff wines typically feature a rich, full bouquet, a deep, fruity sweetness and an intriguing complexity.
