    • Description

Founded in 1979 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, Opus One is a pioneering Napa Valley estate known for its Bordeaux-style blends. The winery is located in Oakville, where its carefully selected vineyard parcels benefit from the region’s ideal climate and terroir. Winemaking follows a meticulous process, combining traditional Bordeaux techniques with modern innovation under the leadership of winemaker Michael Silacci. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is renowned for its depth, complexity, and exceptional ageing potential, consistently ranking among the finest expressions of Napa Valley.

The 2018 vintage benefited from an exceptional growing season in Napa Valley, with a long, even ripening period. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec, it offers deep concentration, refined tannins, and layered complexity with notes of dark berries, violet, graphite, and subtle spice. Structured and balanced, it is built for both early enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
