Rich, fruit-driven and beautifully expressive, the Arran Port Cask Finish combines the vibrant character of Lochranza Distillery with the depth and generosity of carefully selected Port casks.

The whisky begins with approximately eight years of maturation in traditional oak casks before being finished in Port casks sourced from an artisan producer in Portugal. The finishing period is carefully managed to ensure the Port influence enhances rather than overwhelms the natural character of the Arran spirit.

The result is a full-bodied and layered Single Malt, combining ripe red fruits, dried fruit and sweet spice with Arran's signature citrus, orchard fruit and malty sweetness. The Port casks bring additional richness and texture, introducing notes of strawberry, dark berries and fruit preserves alongside cinnamon, vanilla, toasted nuts and gentle oak.

Bottled at a generous 50% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, the Arran Port Cask Finish delivers impressive concentration while retaining freshness and balance. Beneath the richer Port-derived flavours, the underlying malt remains clearly defined, with citrus and barley sweetness providing lift and structure.

Part of Arran's celebrated range of wine cask finishes, this expression provides a fascinating demonstration of how fortified wine casks can transform the distillery's bright, fruit-forward spirit without disguising its identity.

With its combination of ripe fruit, warming spice and generous texture, the Arran Port Cask Finish makes an excellent after-dinner whisky and is particularly well suited to a cheeseboard, dark chocolate or simply enjoyed slowly on its own.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Generous and aromatic, with vanilla spice and ripe citrus leading into dried fruits, toasted nuts and deeper red-fruit notes.

Palate: Rich and layered, combining ripe fruit with warming spice. Cinnamon-baked apple sits alongside strawberry jam, vanilla and sweet oak, with the whisky's natural citrus character providing freshness and balance.

Finish: Long and satisfying, with barley sweetness emerging through layers of ripe fruit, gentle spice and oak. Rich yet composed, with the underlying Arran malt character shining through.
