Description
Following the 2023 debut, the 2024 Journey edition builds on the theme — a richer, deeper chapter in the same story of seasonal celebration. Here, The Macallan leans into warmth, complexity, and comfort, with a dram that tastes like memory and intention.
On the nose, it opens with holiday glow: cherry compote, toasted walnut, mulled wine spice, caramelized oats, and a dusting of powdered sugar. There’s orange peel, clove, cinnamon stick, and the warm softness of brown butter pastries.
The palate is broader than its predecessor — baked apple in maple syrup, gingerbread, and nutty toffee lead the charge. The Sherry casks bring fruit and richness, but it’s not just a dessert dram. It has body. It has poise.
Mid-palate evolves with marzipan, candied raisin, golden syrup, and a velvety mouthfeel that coats the palate with warmth. There’s depth here — not heavy, but deeply layered. Like old traditions reframed with new clarity.
The finish is warm, honeyed, and persistent. Oak spice, soft fruit, a gentle trail of cocoa and sweet malt. It’s a dram meant to celebrate both the passing and the promise of time — a toast to where we’ve been, and where we’re going next.
