Tasting Notes

La Cofradia has this quirky Ceramic Cactus which is popular worldwide. Made by hand then painted by Artisans to be filled with bespoke Reposado Tequila takes the amazing juice to another level, very eye catching, great for collectors of Tequila, Ceramic & Cactus.

Tequila Cactus edition is packaged in a ceramic bottle, which is heated and created in ovens at 1260° Celsius. Mexico has the largest number of species of cactus in the world and its great reserve of flora and fauna is a source of pride and admiration.

Distillation & Provenance

Crafted only for our premium spirits

Distillation

La Cofradía 'Cactus' Reposado is made from 100% Blue Weber agave (Agave tequilana) grown in the Tequila Valley of Jalisco. Following harvest, the agave piñas are cooked and then double distilled using traditional methods. The reposado is aged for six months in American oak barrels, a resting period that softens the spirit's agave character and introduces wood-derived notes of vanilla and light spice. The Cactus edition is presented in a hand-crafted ceramic cactus bottle fired in ovens at 1,260°C — each bottle a piece of artisan Mexican craft. Bottled at 40% ABV. Gold medal winner at the 2012 San Francisco International Spirits Competition.

Provenance

Tequilera Hacienda La Cofradía is a family-run distillery established in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, with over 50 years of production history under NOM 1137. The distillery has strong historical significance: it was the original production facility for Clase Azul tequila before that brand established its own facility, cementing La Cofradía's reputation as one of Jalisco's important premium tequila producers. The house is renowned not only for its tequila but for pairing it with Mexican artisan craftsmanship — particularly hand-crafted ceramic and hand-blown glass bottlings that honour traditional Mexican decorative arts. The 'Cactus' edition takes its name from the distinctive ceramic cactus-shaped bottle.
