Tasting Notes
Brave New Spirits, winner of Best Independent Bottler 2026 at the World Whisky Awards, are the caretakers and curators of one of the most impressive selection of casks in all of Scotland, with whiskies from a wide range of distilleries, aging quietly in an impressively wide range of cask types.
The Cask Masters range represents the rarest and most exciting Single Cask whiskies on the market, each bottled un-chillfiltered and without the use of artificial colours.
The Distiller's Cut contains the Cask Masters bottlings that were just too good to be diluted, having been left at, or just below cask strength, in order to showcase the unique flavour profiles at their most pure.
This Benrinnes is somewhat of a fascinating bottling, as it utilises one of the least common wine casks we have ever seen when it comes to aging whisky. After aging for nearly 12 years, it was allowed to rest for a fnishing period in an ex-Sauvignon Blanc Barrique from France.
The bright flavour profile imposed by the cask pairs beautifully with the rich, lush flavours of the distillery, for a somewhat unexpected combination of berry, orchard fruit and honey spice notes.
On the nose: Green apple, white pepper, tropical breeze and hot cross buns
On the palate: Dried fruit, gooseberries and a herbal complexity. White pepper, fruity and yet dry towards the finish.
On the finish: Dry, lingering tropical tones.
