Tasting Notes
Brave New Spirits, winner of Best Independent Bottler 2026 at the World Whisky Awards, are the caretakers and curators of one of the most impressive selection of casks in all of Scotland, with whiskies from a wide range of distilleries, aging quietly in an impressively wide range of cask types.
The Cask Masters range represents the rarest and most exciting Single Cask whiskies on the market, each bottled un-chillfiltered and without the use of artificial colours.
The Distiller's Cut contains the Cask Masters bottlings that were just too good to be diluted, having been left at, or just below cask strength, in order to showcase the unique flavour profiles at their most pure.
This Glen Spey was aged 13 Years in a First Fill White Wine Barrique, a unique option that is rarely seen in Scotland. Where one might expect such an expression to be overly sweet, there is a delightful malt presence that keeps this dram grounded, with all the best flavours of bread and butter pudding coating the palate.
On the nose: Sultanas, brioche and an inviting presence. Exciting and slightly different.
On the palate: Clean, sweet, bread and butter pudding, with creamy malt and white pepper. Not at all cloying.
On the finish: Alcohol comes through at cask strength, for a long and rich finish.
