It's not every day we get to taste a 50 Year Old Single Malt. It's even less often that we get to taste a Whisky that is over half a century old, under a 5 figure price tag.

This Glenburgie is amongst some of the oldest ever bottled, aged for an impressive length in a single American Oak Hogshead. At 40.5%, this was at the absolute peak of its age when it was bottled, capturing a delicateness and depth of flavour that is rare to see.

If you are looking for a truely exceptional Single Malt, this one blew us away. With a colour reminiscent of burnt umbre and honey, and such complex flavours, this is a once in a decade dram.

On the nose: Old, leather furniture with a faint dustiness. With a few minutes in the glass, tobacco and blended black & herbal teas, deepening substantially to honey apples and cinnamon.

On the palate: Generous. Oak tannins part for regal, softened citrus, an aged complexity and dryness that lingers on the palate. There is nothing that compares to a 50+ YO Single Malt. Beautiful.

Finish: Soft, elegant, lingering for a while before tempting you for another glass.
