Tasting Notes
Brave New Spirits, winner of Best Independent Bottler 2026 at the World Whisky Awards, are the caretakers and curators of one of the most impressive selection of casks in all of Scotland, with whiskies from a wide range of distilleries, aging quietly in an impressively wide range of cask types.
The Cask Masters range represents the rarest and most exciting Single Cask whiskies on the market, each bottled un-chillfiltered and without the use of artificial colours.
The Rare & Exclusive label is reserved strictly for Whisky that deserves it. Only the oldest, and most decadent of whiskies from Cask Masters are released under this label, including highly aged spirit from some of Scotland's most prestigious distilleries.
The Macallan needs little introduction, the famous distillery has been the absolute pinnacle of Luxury whisky for decades now. It is exceptionally rare for the presitigous Speyside distiller to sell barrels to third parties, and when they do, they are typically snapped up by collectors.
When Brave New Spirits offered us this release, we jokingly commented that we would have to taste it first. A few days later, a small sample was delivered to the United Cellars office, all the way from Scotland.
This 32 Year Old, Single Cask Macallan is one of the most decadent, complex and truly beautiful Single Malts we have ever tried. To say we were blown away is an understatement. Sherry stands at the centre, like any good Macallan, holding up the complex, regal flavours of the spirit for over 3 Decades.
Just 1 Bottle has been sent to Australia - and we won't be getting more.
On the nose: Spiced plums, toasted oak and a touch of figgy sweetness. Softened leather, dried citrus peel and ginger in the background.
On the palate: Silky and mature, revealing layers of espresso, roasted nuts, dried fruits and dark oak spice - all wrapped in subtle sherry warmth.
On the finish: Long and composed, regal, with lingering notes of cocoa, fruit cake and soft tannins.
