50% Cabernet, 50% Merlot

Serge and Nathalie Audubert have owned Chateau Laborde since 1996. Their son, Vincent, joined them in 2014. Wines are produced from the appellations Bordeaux white, Bordeaux superior and crémant de Bordeaux. The Château Laborde is located nearby (10 to 20 km) of the great wines of the Gironde (Pomerol, St Emilion, Mountain, Puisseguin, Lussac). Chateau Laborde also holds plots at Lalande de Pomerol, Château Champs de Lalande and Domaine Bois de Laborde. Château Laborde remains more than ever a family farm on a human scale.

Chateau Laborde was granted Cru Bourgeiois status. Cru Bourgeois is a classification for Bordeaux wines that indicates high quality. The term dates back to the Middle Ages, when Bordeaux citizens acquired the region's best lands. Cru Bourgeois wines are considered to be some of the best values in the world for red wines in the $20–$50 range. The term "Cru Bourgeois" was used as early as the 15th century to describe wines with great quality and value. The goal of this Cru is to focus on quality and be more egalitarian than the rigid unchanging 1855 Grand Cru Classé.
 

This is a textbook example of mature Haut-Medoc with notes of blackcurrant, cedar and forest floor. From the celebrated 2010 vintage, it is drinking beautifully and is sure to hit the right note with fans of mature Bordeaux.
