Le Serre Nuove draws from Ornellaia's established Bolgheri vineyard (57 hectares total), located on the Tuscan Coast between the Tyrrhenian Sea and inland hills. These vineyards rest on gravelly, clay-rich soils typical of the region, with excellent drainage and sun exposure. The 2020 vintage began with a cooler spring and moderate summer temperatures, followed by warm conditions in September that favoured optimal ripeness without excessive sugar levels. Sustainable viticultural practices including leaf plucking and careful canopy management were employed throughout the season.

Harvested fruit undergoes rigorous sorting and careful destemming before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and wooden vessels. The wine ferments with extended skin contact to develop colour and fine tannin structure. Post-fermentation, malolactic conversion occurs in French oak barriques where the wine rests for approximately 12 to 14 months. The blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc) is assembled to emphasise secondary fruit nuances and silky tannins characteristic of Le Serre Nuove's philosophy.
