Description
Nuestra Soledad Mezcales showcases the unique terroir and distillation traditions of six different villages within the Valles Centrales (Central Valley) region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Each expression showcases the diversity of Mexico's most prevalent Agave varietal used for Mezcal production, Espadin.
San Luis del Rio is a village located in the Municipality of Tlacolula de Matamoros, located in the east of the Valles Centrales (Central Valleys) Region of Oaxaca. This small village sits within the mountains alongside the Rio Hormiga Colorada which supplies a natural water source. The Agave Espadín used for this Mezcal is grown on slopes so steep and high that harvested Piñas (heart) have to be rolled down before being taken back to the Palenque. The intense humidity and temperatures of this region results in early ripening of the Agave which contain highly concentrated sugars, this results In a Mezcal with subtle citrus, fruit and spice with a full, round and creamy mouthfeel.
This is a floral, fresh style of Mezcal. Bright flavours carried by a slightly higher ABV result in an intensity that rewards a slower sip, with flavours developing over a few seconds across the palate, from citrus, to pepper and spice, and a floral finish.
