Vineyard Cultivation

Tread Softly is a sustainability-focused Australian brand from Fourth Wave Wine, certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia and known for planting a native tree for every case sold. The Everything Except Prosecco zero-alcohol wine begins life as a genuine Prosecco-style sparkling made from Glera-based fruit grown in South Australia, before the alcohol is removed. As a non-vintage product it is assembled to a consistent house style rather than a single season, prioritising bright, citrus-driven fruit and clean acidity. The brand positions itself around lighter, lower-impact drinking, with the finished wine offering the aromatic character of Prosecco without the alcohol.

Vinification

A base Prosecco-style sparkling is first produced from Glera fruit, typically fermented in the tank (Charmat) method that defines the style, giving fresh pear and citrus aromatics. The wine is then dealcoholised, with the alcohol gently removed to reach a zero-alcohol result while retaining aroma and effervescence; carbonation and a touch of residual sweetness are balanced against the wine's cleansing acidity. The result is a light, effervescent, citrus-scented sparkling designed as an aperitif or with antipasto. Exact grape percentages, dealcoholisation technique and dosage for this release are not disclosed by the producer.

About this Wine

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
