The WhiskyHeroes are here! Independent Bottler of the Year Brave New Spirits has created a series of Single Malts (and blends!) that aim to bring whisky fans something bold & flavourful with each new release. Every bottle is small-batch or single cask, aged in either ex-Bourbon or ex-Sherry barrels.
Captain Shug and the Second Sight is a Single Cask release from Teaninich, aged in a first fill Amontillado Sherry cask. The spirit from this distillery is adored amongst enthusiasts for its crisp, vibrant flavours, which are only honed further by the dry and complex notes imparted by the Amontillado barrel.
This delicious dram was awarded a Gold Medal at the Meininger's ISW 2026 - a highly regarded competition in Germany. We were lucky to secure just a couple cases for Australia before it sold out in Europe.
