Grand Cru Precision – From the esteemed slopes of Aloxe-Corton, this Corton-Charlemagne captures the mineral tension and restraint emblematic of one of Burgundy’s greatest white wine terroirs.

Aromatic Subtlety & Depth – A finely nuanced nose with reductive, flinty notes and musky delicacy opens to a palate of concentrated structure, dry extract, and understated spice — a wine that unfolds slowly and rewardingly with age.

Built to Evolve – Ideal with refined dishes like roast poultry or aged goat’s cheese, this wine will gain expressive depth and complexity over the next decade, reaching its full potential through 2032 and beyond.

Tasting Notes

This Corton-Charlemagne Chardonnay is delicate and mineral.

In one generation, Henri Boillot has dramatically increased the quality of his Domaine wines and created a boutique négoce of the highest reputation. The wines, honed by Henri’s prodigious talent, display such a high level of detail and complexity that it is fair to say that they are among the very best representatives of Burgundy’s finest. The Corton-Charlemagne vineyard is located on the Aloxe-Corton side.

The nose is a little bit reduced with very delicate and musky notes as well as hints of flint. The palate is very concentrated and dry and shows some spicy notes. The fruits will take some time to unveil with age. It can be paired with roast poultry, charcuterie, and goat’s cheese. It will benefit from four to five years of cellaring and can be kept up until 2032 or beyond.

Critic Scores

Blend is 80% from Aloxe and the remainder from Pernand. There is enough wood to notice on the cool and airy aromas of white peach, Granny Smith apple and mineral reduction. The middle weight plus flavors are borderline painfully intense while seemingly built on a base of stone as the mouthfeel is like rolling tiny rocks around the palate on the massively long, balanced and youthfully austere finale. This overtly powerful and strikingly good bone-dry effort is markedly compact and a wine that I would recommend buying only if you have the patience to allow it at least a decade in a cool cellar. This could well be the Corton-Charlemagne of the vintage.

Fresh mid lemon. A fine concentration of fresh stony soil, with a little barrel toast. Much more linear of course, though with adequate flesh on the bones. Definite intensity.
