Tasting Notes

Crisp, fresh lemon and lime aromas. A palate to match, complimented with long grapefruit acidity.

First Creek Wines is a family owned and operated winery based in the Hunter Valley, Australia's oldest wine producing region. The talented family of winemakers comprises of Liz, Shaun and Greg Silkman whose emphasis on careful fruit selection and rigorous attention to detail produce a range of wines that appeal to both critics and consumers alike.

It would be difficult to find a wine expert that wouldn't agree the Hunter Valley is one of the world's best Semillon regions. The climate and grape variety combine to produce a wine that is delicately flavoured, bright and crisp in its youth but with careful cellaring, develops into a richly layered and complex wine. Equally at home, simply sipping with friends or perfectly matched to Australia's finest, fresh seafood, you're sure to enjoy one of the Hunter Valley's finest. This Classic Range Semillon is not to be missed.

Critic Scores

The aroma is glorious and immediately appealing, with ethereal citrus and mixed floral tones. The palate is long and citrusy, with superb balance and flow and just the right level of intensity. Its gentle glide makes it effortless to enjoy, with the flavours sailing through the palate on a vein of lemon juice-like acidity. Classic Hunter semillon.

About this Wine

Semillon

A white grape known for its waxy texture and ageing potential, used in both dry white wines and sweet botrytized styles.

New South Wales

Home to 14 official wine regions, New South Wales offers a diverse and wide ranging expanse to produce wines that appeal to every palate.
From Australia’s oldest continuous wine region – the famous Hunter Valley – to exciting new cool climate regions such as Orange, the Southern Highlands and Tumbarumba, these regions can be found to produce some of the best Australian Wine around. Recognised as the second largest wine producing state in Australia, New South Wales is also the most populous state with its wine consumption far outpacing the region's wine production. Although the Hunter Valley region is well known, the majority of wineries are located along the Murray and Darling Rivers (in the south-east of the state) which supplies water for many of the regions wineries.
Other regions within New South Wales includes the Canberra District, Cowra, Gundagai, Hastings River, Hilltops, Mudgee, New England, Perricoota, Riverina and the Shoalhaven Coast.
