Tasting Notes

Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc 2026 exemplifies the pinnacle of Australian winemaking, consistently setting the standard for Sauvignon Blanc over decades. This premium release captures the signature freshness and aromatic complexity that define the Shaw & Smith legacy.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the 2026 vintage bursts with vibrant notes of citrus and tropical fruit, artfully layered with subtle herbaceous undertones. Its crisp acidity and refined minerality create a harmonious and balanced palate, demonstrating both elegance and lively character. This Sauvignon Blanc offers a pure expression of the fruit, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of culinary pairings.

Originating from one of Australia’s most esteemed wine regions, the grapes for this wine benefit from cool climate conditions that slow ripening, preserving natural acidity and intensifying aromatic nuances. This terroir imparts remarkable clarity and depth, contributing to the wine’s fresh and lively profile.

Fresh, aromatic, and pure, the Shaw & Smith Sauvignon Blanc 2026 continues to exemplify the winery’s reputation for producing exceptional wines that consistently deliver a rewarding tasting experience. Ideal with seafood and light poultry, or simply savored on its own, this wine honors its heritage while showcasing contemporary precision.

About this Wine

South Australia

If you like Australian wine, then you probably like South Australia wine. The rich reds produced there put Australia on the wine-making map of the world. With over 40% of the countries vineyards, South Australia can rightfully call itself the wine state.

Wines are produced in several regions throughout the state, though many are naturally grouped together, like Barossa and Eden Valleys, only 15 minutes apart. They include such regions as Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eden Valley, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Langhorne Creek, The Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Wrattonbully to name but a few!

Barossa Valley boasts some of the oldest vines in Australia dating back to 1843 and produces some of the world's finest Shiraz, whilst the 'terra rossa' soils of Coonawarra is most suited to producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. If you're a fan of Riesling, Clare Valley is a great place to explore and for a Maritime climate not dissimilar to parts of the Italian coastline, seek out the wines from McLaren Vale.
