Critic Scores

Bright garnet with translucent ruby edges.
The nose is aromatic and refined, opening with rose petal, red cherry and wild strawberry layered with subtle tar, dried herbs and delicate spice. A gentle earthy undertone adds complexity.
Medium-bodied with elegant structure, the palate reveals red berry fruit framed by firm, fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Savoury nuances of dried herb and light leather build through the mid-palate, leading to a persistent, structured finish marked by varietal precision.
A classic expression of Langhe Nebbiolo showing finesse, structure and regional typicity. So very drinkable.
Vino Masters Score: 95 / 100
★★★★★ Structured, aromatic and authentically styled. A joy to drink! Drink now to 2032.

Complex and engaging, the elegantly fragrant bouquet shows ripe cherry, olive, leather, and almond notes, leading to a finely flowing palate that's brilliantly structured by fine, chalky tannins, making it classically firm and dry with a persistent finish. At its best: now to 2035.

Vinification & Cultivation

Crafted only for our premium wines

Vineyard Cultivation

The 2023 growing season in Piedmont's Langhe region delivered excellent fruit concentration with warm, ideal conditions for Nebbiolo ripening and phenolic development throughout. Ascheri's Langhe Nebbiolo typically sources from younger vineyard blocks or selected parcels situated outside the official Barolo DOCG boundary, yet receives identical traditional viticulture commitment and care. These vineyard sites feature the same clay-limestone soils found in the renowned Barolo crus, though with distinct microclimate characteristics and individual terroir expression. The 2023 vintage expresses characteristic freshness and approachability typical of quality Langhe Nebbiolo expressions.

Vinification

The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo underwent traditional fermentation with native yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks, allowing careful extraction of the variety's signature tannin structure without excessive hardness or over-extraction. Malolactic fermentation proceeded naturally, followed by 12–14 months in French oak—a shorter duration than Barolo crus—balancing the wine's structure with its inherent elegance and natural freshness. Careful racking and cellar management supported development throughout ageing. Bottling without fining or filtration preserved the wine's natural character and mineral definition.
