Tasting Notes

In the mood for some classic Chardonnay that's elegant, flavourful yet delightfully crisp? - try Salentein's Barrel Selection Chardonnay and you won't drink any other! Soft and subtle aromas of citrus, peach, white blossoms and minerals yet a slight buttery texture in the mouth with lovely flavors of green apple, tropical fruit, fresh garden herbs and a drop of vanilla. Imagine having this with some prawn toast or sweet and sour fish? Oooooh, delicious!

The cold climate, vast thermal amplitude and humidity, together with stony soils rich in calcium carbonates and sustainable vineyard management, offer unique conditions to produce Chardonnay grapes of the highest quality. Winemaking with minimal intervention produces an exceptional expression of Chardonnay from this unique vineyard.

Critic Scores

This is generously fruited and enticing on the nose, showing ripe stone fruit, mango, roasted hazelnut, and brioche characters. The palate is equally appealing with excellent weight, creamy texture, and well-pitched acidity, finishing long and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2029.

Sourced from Mendoza vineyards perched at 1,250–1,300 metres above sea level, where altitude preserves freshness and precision.
Bright straw in colour with subtle golden highlights.
The nose reveals ripe peach, citrus and melon layered with well-integrated oak, vanilla and delicate toasted nuances.
On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, yet impressively composed. Stone fruit generosity is balanced by fresh, vibrant acidity, while a creamy mid-palate texture leads into a long, refined finish with lingering notes of honeysuckle and gentle oak spice.
A polished high-altitude Chardonnay that harmoniously balances richness with freshness and structure.
Vino Masters Score: 93 / 100
★★★★★ Excellent balance of fruit and oak.

A lightly framed and quite zingy fresh young chardonnay from the Uco Valley in Argentina. Crisp white peach and lemon zest combine on the nose while subtle cashew and minerals work together on the palate. The lingering acidity leaves the mouth refreshed.

A fresh and creamy chardonnay with peaches, apples, pie crust and salted butter on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied, lightly buttery and inviting. Drink now. Screw cap.
