Vinification & Cultivation

Vineyard Cultivation

Bodegas Salentein, established in 1999, operates as one of Mendoza's flagship premium wine producers, with Numina representing the winery's highest-tier expression and quality commitment. The 2023 Chardonnay derives from carefully selected high-altitude Mendoza vineyard parcels where significant diurnal temperature variation and well-drained Andean soils produce Chardonnay of distinctive freshness and complexity. The 2023 vintage in Mendoza delivered warm, dry conditions ideal for achieving full fruit ripeness whilst retaining essential natural acidity and structural elements. Salentein's sustainable viticulture practices ensure optimal fruit quality, concentration and authentic terroir expression.

Vinification

The 2023 Numina Chardonnay was hand-harvested and pressed gently, then fermented in French oak with cultured yeasts, allowing controlled malolactic conversion and flavour development. The wine aged in French oak for approximately 10–12 months on fine lees, with regular bâtonnage imparting textural complexity and richness throughout the maturation period. A careful balance of new and neutral barrels preserved oak influence whilst maintaining the wine's natural minerality and elegance throughout. Careful cellar management guided development. Fining and filtration before bottling resulted in a polished, elegant expression.
