Tasting Notes

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Durif, 10% Aglianico. 100% Arizona. The project of Maynard James Keenan, frontman of the band Tool, this blend comes from the high altitude Eliphante block (3400ft) in Yavapai County, Arizona. Aged 18 months in French cask and puncheon, the Anubis shows great power and structure. The nose is full of black fruits, fresh, ripe and stewed, giving off aromas of a berry cobbler. The palate is full and generous, with intense black and red fruit, plush texture and ripe tannins. Enjoy with a some rich, slow cooked beef or pork.

About this Wine

Caduceus Cellars

Maynard James Keenan is a Pioneer in Arizona Winemaking and created the Caduceus Label for his Arizona Vineyard, Merkin Vineyards. One day, inbetween recording and touring for his award winning bands Tool, A Perfect Circle & Puscifer, he looked out from his patio and realised that the climate, soil and terrain around his home in Northern Arizona was similar to that of some of the great wine regions of the world.

Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards are a small, independent family run winery with very limited production.
