Tasting Notes

The Emblematic Trilogy - Each Case Contains 1 x 1988, 1 x 1989 and 1 x 1990,

Ultra-Limited edition, only five cases available.

This trilogy is presented in a magnificent wooden case and can be personally engraved with the name of its future owner, transforming an already remarkable collection into a truly unique keepsake, whether destined as a special gift or for a distinguished private cellar.

Preserving the integrity of these historic wines is the Château’s absolute priority. All bottles were reconditioned by the Château in 2025 or 2026, including recorking and relabelling. Each back label indicates the year of reconditioning and the date of release from the Château’s cellars, providing a clear record of provenance while ensuring exceptional presentation, quality and authenticity.

“Three vintages of exceptional quality, offering depth, richness and an aftertaste which defy the
imagination. Perfect for celebrating special moments, these wines are ready to reveal all their secrets
to those who know how to appreciate them, but are also worth cellaring for several dozen years more.” - Chateau d’Yquem

Critic Scores

Chateau d’Yquem 1988: Just a fabulous wine from the moment the wine hit the glass. The explosive nose, with its coconut, butterscotch, creme brulee, candied orange, flowers, vanilla bean, and honeyed tropical fruit got you to stop, stare and take another sniff. Rich, lush, opulent, intensely concentrated, velvet-textured apricots, yellow tropical fruits and a gallon of honey that was perfectly braced with a wall of acidity that hung on for well over 60 seconds in the finish. This has entered the start of secondary development and could easily go 100 years. As a guess, the next marker comes in with another 20 yeas of age. - 99 Points, The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve - Tasted: Jan 2020

Chateau d’Yquem 1989: One of the high points of this vertical tasting, the 1989 d'Yquem is a magical wine offering up a complex, refined bouquet with aromas of quince, apricot, pineapple, menthol, flowers and white truffles, followed by a full-bodied, concentrated and seamless palate, pure and vibrant structure and lively acids, concluding with a long, perfumed, ethereal finish. - 99 Points - Yohan Castaing - Published: Nov 01, 2023

Chateau d’Yquem 1990: A warm to hot vintage ideal for producing outstanding reds does not necessarily make for a great Sauternes vintage, but in the case of 1990 it did. Dry, warm winds in the autumn contributed to the level of concentration that this wine exhibits. Fortunately, a little rain in late September and early October ensured that botrytis flourished well in the end, the final factor necessary to achieve this extraordinary expression. - 98 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown
