Critic Scores

The finesse and depth of the bouquet are immediately apparent. Direct yet precise and methodical. I feel as if I'm conversing with my friend Bruno Borie! The subtlety and complexity open the door to a thousand and one sensations where each element complements the others with rare precision. The bouquet alone reveals the grandeur of Ducru Beaucaillou. Among other things, one notices nuances of graphite, cedar, blackberry, and licorice wood. On the palate, the wine impresses with its ability to frame its power, revealing its details with finesse and accuracy, and conveying its evident connection to the gravelly-clay terroir (Graves de Güns). The tannins have structure and grip, yet are nonetheless fine and subtle. They provide a serene and precise vigor, accompanied by an acidity that is both incisive and structuring, which celebrates the wine's character while carefully maintaining finesse as its guiding principle. A moving, touching Ducru, so true to himself, so magnificent. He doesn't even need to adapt to the times; he is self-sufficient, not out of whim, but out of sincerity. A true personality: imposing, persistent, inspiring! 2033-2070 - 99 to 100 Points - Yves Beck

5 Spice, roses, irises, and white flowers are only part of the aromatic display. You also enjoy licorice, espresso, smoke, tobacco, blackberries, and black cherries. However, the palate owns the show with its display of sensuous, silky, refined black and red fruits, Asian spices, chocolate, herbs, and mint leaf. The expansive finish combines power with elegance. Everything is in balance, providing a lingering, seamless endnote that allows you to experience the purity and wealth of fruit, which lingers for over 60 seconds. Produced from blending 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 21% Merlot, 13.44% ABV, 3.74 pH. Picking took place from September 2 -- September 23. 2025 marks the earliest and the longest harvest in the history of the estate. Yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2032-2070. - 98 to 100 Points - Jeff Leve

Deep purple-hued and completely opaque, the blockbuster 2025 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou checks in as 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot, all resting in 100% new barrels. The nose is rich and concentrated, with pure crème de cassis, graphite, ripe black cherries, spicy wood, and freshly sharpened pencil-driven aromatics. On the palate, it's full-bodied, with a dense, concentrated mid-palate, ripe, building tannins, and a great finish. It checks in at 13.44% alcohol with a pH of 3.8. This structured, pure, and incredibly precise Ducru reminds me slightly of the 2010, with perhaps a touch more finesse. - 97 to 99 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Ducru-Beaucaillou shimmies out with vibrant notes of freshly crushed black currants and blueberries, opening out to sparkles of violets, licorice, crushed rocks, and cardamom, with a waft of iron ore. The medium-bodied palate is fantastically elegant with firm yet exquisitely ripe, fine-grained tannins and amazing tension to match the delicately nuanced black fruit layers, finishing with epic length and an incredible firework display of minerals and flowers. The blend is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot. It has a pH of 3.74 and the alcohol is 13.44%. - 97 to 99 Points - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Palet)

The 2025 Ducru-Beaucaillou is fabulous. Vibrant red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, mint and blood orange are all beautifully sculpted. The purity of the fruit is just remarkable. New oak is 100%, but lower toast levels and a more dialed-in approach here are palpable. Gorgeous floral and savory Cabernet top notes lift the finish. Superb, and one of the highlights of the year, Ducru is absolutely stunning in 2025. - 96 to 99 Points - Antonio Galloni
