Critic Scores

A Cabernet-dominant blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Château Léoville Barton checks in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.6. Crème de cassis, smoked tobacco, liquid violets, iron, and an incredible sense of graphite all define the aromatics of this brilliant, deep, pure, and layered beauty. On the palate, it's full-bodied, inward, and powerfully structured, and reminds me slightly of the 2010 with its deep, concentrated style. It has enormous potential. - 97 to 99 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

Can Barton disappoint? No: the nose gives you goosebumps, deep, noble, complex, playful, blackberries, floral notes, barely perceptible wood; on the palate of great elegance, this is pure nobility, structured, powerful, yet with a lightness that is unmatched, excellent tannin quality, great arc of tension, great length, red-fruited finish. A sensational Barton. (Drink from 2032 to 2065) - 97 to 99 Points - Adrian Van Velsen

The bouquet of Léoville-Barton 2025 sets the bar high right from the start! Woody and mineral nuances, complemented by black berries and a touch of eucalyptus, reinforce its approach. Smooth on the attack, the wine is driven by compact, fine-grained tannins that perfectly balance the structuring acidity. Refined and powerful from the outset, the wine impresses with its attention to detail and its exceptional ability to showcase its youth without ruling out early drinking, once again prioritizing its ambitions for greatness. A complete, coherent, inviting, and invigorating wine. 2030-2065 - 97 to 98 Points - Yves Beck

Exceptional in this vintage, combining perfect body, impressive density, and remarkable progress in oak integration. An absolute priority for en primeur purchases. - 97 to 98 Points - Bettane & Desseauve

With admirable consistency, Léoville Barton produces a full-bodied and energetic wine. The palate, rich and creamy, is enlivened by juicy fruit and perfectly integrated texture. The refined tannins support an intense yet approachable structure. A wine that is both powerful and harmonious. - 96 to 98 Points - La Revue du Vin de France
