Critic Scores

The details and depth define Mangot's bouquet, which above all showcases its terroir and the labor involved in cultivating it. Notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, peonies, and mint create a diversity defined by freshness. This freshness is expressed through distinct chalky nuances. The initial taste can also be summarized by these chalky notes, but it naturally radiates freshness, tension, temperament, and verve! The silky texture softens the intensity of the terroir somewhat, while the tannins offer a restrained power that, nevertheless, cannot be completely neutralized… And why is that? If they're there, there's a good reason for them, and besides, they don't bother anyone. They simply remind us that a great wine needs time. However, that shouldn't deter anyone from trying it young, because it's delicious! What a powerhouse!!! - 96 to 98 Points - Drink 2030-2060 - Yves Beck

Profound, cool, and noble in expression, floral notes, underlaid with stone, cassis, cherries, herbs, clear and pure; on the palate dense, focused, full of tension, powerful, with a prominent tannin structure, chalky, stunningly beautiful fruit, juicy acidity, aromatically long, red-fruited and very saline on the finish. A great Mango! (Drink from 2032 to 2065) - 95 to 97 Points - Adrian Van Velsen

Rose petals, milk chocolate and red cherries, such fragrance on the nose. Silky smooth, juicy and succulent, such immediate joy to be found with this wine. Great intensity of flavour - extremely fruity with crisp raspberries, cherries and blueberries alongside quite clear acidity - a citric touch - with such length. Amazing brilliance, purity and delicate. Tannins give structure and soft support but really blend into the background letting the fruit shine. Gorgeous. Fun, lifted, fresh and juicy. 3.45pH. A yield of 37hl/ha on 34ha. - Georgina Hindle

Aromas of dark berries, cherries and plums, mingled with subtle hints of licorice and violet, introduce the 2025 Château Mangot, a medium- to full-bodied, layered and velvety wine that's intensely flavored, vibrant and penetrating. Mangot has enjoyed a formidable run in recent years, but the 2025 gives every indication of ranking alongside the 2022 as the estate's best to date. It's a blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. - 93 to 95 Points - William Kelley
