Critic Scores

As so often, Pétrus has the ability to charm and impress, to seduce and overwhelm. This 2005, one of the greatest vintages from this great chateau, is massive and concentrated, with flavors of ripe black figs, chocolate and dark plums. Put that all together and the result is the utmost deliciousness, freshness and elegance. A major wine. Imported by Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix. - Tasted: Jan 2008

Dark ruby, purple edge. In the nose oriental spice, fine dark berry confit, orange peel, cinnamon, superb fruit perfume, some nougat. On the palate immensely finessed, red berry, with firm tannins that are completely wrapped in delicate fruit, freshly structured, shows considerable length and complexity, has gained considerable flesh over the last few years and is approaching a first real drinking age, great potential. (Store/Drink + 30). - Tasted: Dec 2019
