Tasting Notes

Situated near the Grand Cru vineyards of La Romanée, La Romanée-Conti and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. Richebourg has a combined total of 8-hectares, of which A.F. Gros own 0.59-hectares, therefore making them the second largest occupant after Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.

Dark, brooding aromas of red and black cherry, blackberry, and mulberry infused with smoky, toasted oak spice. So intense, complex, and concentrated yet beautifully balanced thanks to the juicy tannins and silky texture; it is so pure and harmonious with a core of further Autumn and hedgerow fruits fused with black pepper spice on the marathon finish. Effortlessly oozes class and sophistication. Stunning.

Richebourg is one of the six Grand Cru vineyards in Vosne Romanée consisting of 8ha which is shared between 10 producers including Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noellat and Domaine Meo-Camuzet. Critic Scores

Assemblage. A slightly fuller crimson. The nose is a little reticent though has weight, just hasn’t woken up yet. The palate delivers the full wealth of fruit, with spice behind, but perhaps would use a touch more vivacity. This may just be sleeping, and certainly the finish delivers what one might expect of Richebourg. Drink from 2034-2040. Tasted Oct 2025.
