Tasting Notes

Indulge in the exquisite elegance of the Chavy-Chouet Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2022, meticulously crafted by the renowned vintner, Domaine Chavy Chouet. Nestled in the heart of Meursault, Burgundy, this wine epitomises the quintessential sophistication of French terroir. The vineyard's unique, chalky soil lends a distinct minerality, harmoniously blended with charming citrus notes. The grapes are hand-harvested, maintaining the integrity of each cluster before being given a traditional, gentle press. Extended maturation in French oak barrels lends a plush complexity to the Chavy-Chouet's finish. Chavy-Chouet, a winemaker renowned for their dedication to sustainable, low-intervention viticulture, has mastered the art of crafting unfiltered wines, presenting the truest expression of their terroir. Each bottle of Chavy-Chouet Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2022 encapsulates quintessential Burgundy: sophisticated, elegant, and beautifully balanced.

Critic Scores

Pale in colour, with an attractive volume of white fruit, riper apples, not super demonstrative but certainly fine and it’s all there. The wood comes out more at the finish but will integrate. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Oct 2024.

About this Wine

Domaine Chavy Chouet

Two families, two villages on the Côte d’Or linked by a love for terroir over seven generations… After six years at a specialist winemaking school and with plenty of experience in winegrowing and vinification around the world under his belt, Romaric has given the estate a makeover. He has been running it single-handedly since 2006, watching over his 15 hectares of vines with a rigorous eye. He is proud of his roots, and his approach combines rigour, tradition, and innovation.
