Tasting Notes

Domaine Chavy Chouet Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2024 represents a remarkable expression of Burgundy’s prestigious white wines, crafted by the talented Romaric Chavy, a rising star among the young producers of the Côte d'Or. This wine comes from an exceptionally rare Monopole, a tiny 0.9-hectare vineyard exclusively owned by the Chavy family, ensuring unparalleled attention to detail and terroir authenticity.

Situated in the renowned Meursault appellation—famous worldwide for its rich, complex Chardonnay—the Les Grands Charrons vineyard benefits from exceptional limestone-rich soils that impart remarkable minerality and finesse. The 2024 vintage is anticipated to showcase vibrant acidity balanced with luscious fruit, reflecting a year of optimal ripening conditions and meticulous vineyard management.

This release is exclusive to United Cellars, with only five dozen bottles imported to Australia, making it a coveted addition for collectors and connoisseurs alike. The wine’s profile is expected to reveal a dazzling bouquet of citrus blossoms, white peach, and subtle hints of toasted almond, layered with a creamy texture and a long, refined finish.

Romaric Chavy’s dedication to traditional Burgundian techniques combined with his innovative approach results in a wine that elegantly combines precision, depth, and an expressive sense of place. The Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2024 is a testament to the exceptional quality achievable from small-scale, family-owned vineyards, delivering complexity and purity in every sip.

Discover a rare gem from a distinguished lineage, offering a unique opportunity to experience the artistry of one of Côte d'Or’s most promising young vintners through this limited-edition bottling.

Critic Scores

An attractive lemon and lime colour, with some elegance to the bouquet, ripe citrus and refined apple and pear aromatics. A little more tension on the palate, a light whiff of oak, some generosity to the fruit without entering into anything heavy in the style, good length.
