Critic Scores

Inky dense core with a purple hue. Youthful and pure nose, layered with fine oak, a hint of smoke and toastiness with floral violet notes, blackberry, plum, steak tartare, pepper and clove. Very pure, concentrated and layered palate, a high extraction but very grainy tannins and a vibrant acidity, ripe blackberry, plum and cassis notes with a nice peppery meatiness, layered and intense flavours with cocoa bean, fine spices and a very long dense and complex finish. Serious structure for long ageing even if it´s rather delicious already. Tasted: Sep 2018

Perhaps the longest-lived wine of the vintage, the wine is full-bodied, rich and deep with iron, rocks, stones and crisp, deep, red fruits in its core. The tannins are present, but they are ripe, polished and yet, still firm. There is the backbone to age, so be prepared to give this at least a decade or longer and it should be the star of the vintage. Tasted: Sep 2018 - Jeff Leve

Super-intense, dark-stone and mineral aromas here. Coal smoke, graphite and some distinctive, sappy, herbal accents. Blackberries are swathed in black and green pepper, mocha and coffee. Cloves and other woody spices are all in the mix, too. The palate is muscular with firm tannins encompassing the punchy, black-fruit flavors. This is under lockdown for now and will need a while to settle. Try in 2025. Tasted: Jul 2018
