This has verve and pluck. It nips and tucks across the palate, tonic water and dill pickle with radish and green apple chiming in. Distinctly varietal in that regard. Ultra refreshing, just the right dose of edge and crunch to texture, a good drive of flavour and persistence in tandem. This makes for excellent drinking, and does great service to the variety's credentials in the region.

Pristine and elegantly lifted, showing green rockmelon, apricot, crisp apple, and lemon peel nuances. The palate is lively and focused with fine texture and beautifully pitched acidity, finishing persistent and mouth-watering.

Adelaide Hills is ideal for this Austrian variety. Riesling-like structure with subtle crunchy stone fruit characters. Talcy acid and crunchy apple on the palate. Perfect for summer drinking.

Like a number of Adelaide Hills producers, the team have found that the Austrian variety, Gruner Veltliner, has an affinity with their region. Their vineyard was planted back in 2010 with three different clones. Fermentation is in stainless steel. Straw with flecks of green, there is an intriguing nose with pears and stonefruit to the fore, supported by a touch of mandarin, florals and beeswax. A mouthfilling structure, the wine has very good length and fine balance. It should drink delightfully over the next four to six years. A very good Gruner.
