Louis Roederer Vintage Rose Champagne 2017
Tasting Notes
Louis Roederer Rosé 2017 is a beautifully poised Champagne that combines the richness of Pinot Noir with the elegance and freshness of Chardonnay. Produced using Roederer's signature infusion method, this distinctive rosé captures vibrant fruit while preserving remarkable precision and minerality.
Composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the fruit is sourced from the renowned vineyards of Cumières and Chouilly. Around 29% of the blend is vinified in oak casks, adding subtle texture and complexity, while minimal malolactic fermentation preserves freshness and energy. The wine is matured for four years on lees, followed by a further six months after disgorgement, resulting in exceptional harmony and refinement.
The bouquet is expressive and elegant, revealing wild strawberries, raspberries and blood orange, complemented by delicate floral notes, subtle spice and hints of cocoa and cedar. The palate is silky and refined, with concentrated red berry fruit balanced by vibrant citrus, saline minerality and a delicate chalky freshness. A dosage of 8g/L brings perfect balance, leading to a long, pure and persistent finish.
An exceptional gastronomic rosé, Louis Roederer Rosé 2017 pairs beautifully with lobster, duck, tuna, salmon or fine charcuterie, while its balance and structure ensure it will continue to evolve gracefully over the coming years.
