Mulline Vintners was established in 2018 by Ben Mullen and Ben Hine and quickly became a leading name in Geelong, named Halliday Wine Companion Best Value Winery of the Year. This single-vineyard Pinot Noir comes from the Leech Vineyard in Drysdale, in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula. More sheltered than nearby Portarlington but still under a strong maritime influence, the site is planted to the MV6 clone on grey sandy loam over yellow light clay. The cool, coastal Geelong climate and low-vigour soils give small berries with bright acidity and dark-leaning Pinot fruit; 2024 was a strong Victorian vintage producing balanced, deeply coloured wines.

Fruit was hand-picked and fully destemmed into open fermenters - with no whole bunches used - then wild-yeast fermented with twice-daily punch-downs over about nine days on skins. The wine was pressed to French oak barriques for a natural malolactic fermentation, and matured with 20 per cent new oak. The approach gives a deep, bright crimson wine of ripe, balanced fruit and velvety tannins, showing morello cherry, black plum and hedgerow scents; it was described as the readiest to drink of Mulline's five single-vineyard 2024 Pinots.
