Fabulously fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows green apple, rockmelon, lemongrass, and lime zest aromas, followed by a wonderfully flavoursome palate offering saline texture backed by bright acidity, making it refreshing and mouth-watering.

There’s no mistaking the signature of this wine with a power surge of citrus and sea spray, apple and tropical fruits, mineral and a classic fresh sage and basil herb selection. Balanced and well made, fruity, crisp and dry with best drinking from day of purchase through 2028.

Pale, almost colourless in the glass, with grassy/lemongrass, passionfruit and chilli pepper aromas; the palate is very light in weight with a crisp dry finish and it manages to deliver the juicy fruitiness so loved in Marlborough savvy but without any obvious sweetness. Quite lovely wine.

FYI, the score reflects the most objective of subjective opinions, but if you’re fond of the style, you’d be a case deep within a week.

‘Elegant’ is the first thing that comes to mind, which is, in a way, an important descriptor in my SB books. Apart from that, the wine is pure in its fruity and floral theme, but easy on the crazy tropical and green aromas. The palate is slippery, with yoghurty weight, crunch of watermelon rind, green guava, apple, and a hint of phenolics of crushed white flowers. Cool steel and a suggestion of jalapeño lingering in the aftertaste. Good, yes.
